Vacuum Pad Fall Restraint System
Operational Elements
Wingrip can be used anywhere an aircraft
is parked, inside or out on the
apron. All that is needed is a compressed air or nitrogen
supply. The system is light to carry and is a one man operation.
It consists of a vacuum pad, vacuum module, vacuum hose,
full harness, safety lanyard and work positioning rope.
- The vacuum pad is compressed against the aircraft skin
by atmospheric pressure and held in place due to the negative
pressure beneath the pad.
- The Wingrip system is powered by compressed air or nitrogen.
- The Wingrip system is completely non-electrical, therefore
the
requirements for long electrical cables, mobile generators
and
a battery charging system are not required.
- The Wingrip system is safe and utilizes a non-electrical
operation that is absolutely safe in all environments.
- The Wingrip pads can be used singly on the wings or
fuselage or
connected in series to cover a full wing span.
- In the event of a failure of the air/nitrogen supply
an audible warning
alarm will sound and the Wingrip pads will maintain a
safe working
vacuum for a minimum of 20 minutes.
- Using the work positioning rope attachment the worker
is given a
working area of approx. 3 m x 3 m. The work positioning
rope is ideal for working on the trailing edge of the
wing where the materials used do not suit the placement
of a vacuum pad.
